The First Ever "Get After It"

Chris Spivey

Welcome friends to the first ever "Get After It" weekly email about life and business.  This is something I've wanted to do for a while, but kept putting it off with the excuse of the need to craft my writing skills before taking on the attempt of a weekly email that people actually WANT to read.  Thankfully after seeing the advice of a friend of mine, Ryan France, I decided it was time to get after it.  From his advice I realized I'm not trying to win a Pulitzer prize with this email, believe me my writing will prove this.  What I'm trying to do is create content that will help, inform, and sometimes just put a smile on your face.

To kick things off I want to share what I wrote in the January edition of my monthly letter, "Spivey's Stories From Real Estate and Beyond", of what "Get After It" actually means to me.  You might have heard this phrase associated with partying hard and really getting after it with a wild night, but that's not what it means to me at all.  To me it means to get after it being a better husband, a better father, and a better friend.  It means to get after it harder with my business with doing everything I possibly can to protect the best interest of my clients.  It means to get after it harder helping the community, giving back, and being a better servant to God.  It also means to get after it with surfing, paddleboarding, jiu jitsu, tennis, exercising, playing guitar, and just enjoying life.  That's what get after it means to me, being the best you can be, not doing something halfway, living life to the fullest but in a way where you put others first, and not holding back because of fear of failure or rejection.  Some of the greatest lessons I've learned have come from failure and some of the biggest regrets I have are NOT trying something.

When planning this email, I asked myself what I wanted it to be.  Should it be:
-about life
-about business
-about real estate
-about clients
-about relationships
-about the community
My answer to all of those questions was "Yes".  It will be all of these things and more.  Most of all, I hope it helps or inspires you in some way.  Thanks for taking the journey friends.  Away we go get after it!
